The Unified Patent Court today published its decision on the provisional assignment of actions pending before the central division relating to patents in different sections of the International Patent Classification (IPC).
As of June 1, 2023, pending actions in section A (Human Needs) of the IPC will be transferred to the Paris headquarters, while actions in section C (Chemistry and Metallurgy) will be handled by the Munich headquarters. This provisional reassignment is necessary as the UK withdrew its ratification of the Unified Patent Court Agreement in July 2020, leaving the fate of these shares orphaned.

The decision to allocate these shares to Paris and Munich is temporary, while the Unified Patent Court makes a final decision on the headquarters that will replace London. From what has been speculated, Milan has many numbers to be the seat that will take over the central division for these actions in the future.
