The competition, which consisted in redesigning the packaging of products in healthcare sector in Spain, was promoted by Isern Patentes y Marcas and the ELISAVA design school.
Isern Patentes y Marcas, a Spanish leader in consultancy and registration for companies regarding trademarks, designs, domain names and legal defence, alongside the ELISAVA University, the prestigious design and engineering school, created the Design Award in 2016 for students of the Master in Packaging Design at ELISAVA.
In this edition, students presented five high-end and visually striking projects. The jury was formed by Jorge Isern, managing partner of Isern Patentes Y Marcas; Rosa Mª Valls, department manager of the Avene de Pierre Fabre Office; Elba Pastor, lawyer and designer at Isern Patentes y Marcas, and Eva Minguella, head of the Master in Packaging Design at ELISAVA.
The winning design of this edition, which will make the dental hygiene sector evolve since it enables a more comfortable and hygienic mouthwash that will revolutionise the way this product is consumed, was developed by the team made up of Irina Altuna, Faviana Alejandra and Camila Robayo.
Isern Patentes y Marcas has awarded this design with the registration of the winning project as a community industrial design.
On 29 June, the students and Isern professionals went to file the project at the Pierre Fabre Ibérica offices in Barcelona.
Pierre Fabre greeted them as professionals and the students were able to experience how a design project is presented to the sales team of a multinational company such as Pierre Fabre through a design study.
They were also able to visit the Pierre Fabre showroom where the cosmetic and medical products that the multinational markets on the work market are presented.
Jorge Isern, managing partner of Isern Patentes y Marcas, said during the award ceremony that “the most important thing is for students to experience the professional world, to take their portfolio and try to convince clients and sell their projects. My idea is to take advantage of our client network and universities to bring to the light all the potential and synergies of both worlds”.
The Master has been coordinated by Eva Minguella and the Isern lawyer, Ana Casas, who has participated in the Master as a lecturer for over five years.
